What is Feng Shui?
Feng Shui is an ancient art of assessing the energy of property (land and building) for the purpose of channeling these energies to benefit the humans who occupy the space.
There are two distinct forms of Feng Shui currently practiced on planet earth: New Age and Classical. New Age Feng Shui is the most widely seen on social media. The latter, Classical Feng Shui is less known but very effective since it is more personalized than the one size fits all modern practices of Feng Shui.
How Is A Feng Shui Chart Prepared?
To create the energy chart or Qi Map (aka Chi Map) of a property the practitioner needs a basic layout of each level, the compass facing direction of the building, and the year it was first occupied.
The most difficult of the three factors above is determining the facing direction! There are several factors to consider when determining the 'face' of the building. In most cases, the facing is the side which fronts onto the street. But if there is an ocean view at the back, and the building was designed to literally face the ocean, then the street side may not actually be the direction it faces.
It is highly recommended to seek help from an experienced feng shui practitioner to ensure you are including the correct data when calculating the Qi Map of your building.

What Information Does A Qi Map or Chi Map Show?
When considering the energy of a property (using Classical Feng Shui) we think in layers. The more information available, the more the practitioner can 'see' about the property.
Two main energy systems active in a property:
1. Flying Star
2. Eight Mansions
The Flying Stars system is connected with the north dipper star formation and the energies are referenced as number, 1 through 9. These numbers connect with periods of time that are 20 years each in length. Currently, planet earth is in period 9 (2024- 2043). This is the system which relates to a persons gua number (calculated from date of birth).
The Eight Mansions system is long-term and is more deeply rooted that the stars. This system simply requires a facing direction to plot a chart. Also, a person connects personally to this system from their birth chart with respect the animal signs present.
The most accurate Qi Map is one with both layers included.
House Designed with Feng Shui, BaZi and Date Selection
This custom home was crafted with to energetically enhance the lives of its occupants. A detailed lot assessment was conducted concerning the natural formations around the property, including features such as high land, low land, natural water formations, and chi flow. In Classical Feng Shui, exterior forms play a crucial role in activating the internal chi map of a property. Both the exterior and interior forms stimulate the chi (energy) within the house, making the layout of space with exterior forms essential for unlocking beneficial energy within a home.
The personal BaZi charts (Chinese astrology) of the intended occupants were utilized as metaphysical tools to connect the owners with the energy of the space; this is a vital aspect of the metaphysical house design process. Through careful analysis, an ideal facing direction was established, and an internal layout was created to ensure their wants and needs were met while strategically placing rooms, doors, and more.

- Revised floor layout and 3D realistic views issued for client review

- Classical Feng Shui Analysis explaining the energetic benefits included in the design alongside recommendations for the current year’s Flying Stars and Eight Mansions.
- A 'good' date to begin breaking ground was issued to support a smooth construction process
